You want updates? You got them! [Robot, Satellite, Xbox, Google Wallet, Jogging and Microsoft]

Alright laides and gentlemen, welcome to the first post after being 22! It must be an honour and a privilege to be here today. I hope you want some updates on my projects, so here goes… Sorry I haven’t posted much recently, I’ve been… busy…

My satellite’s orbit is now 100% complete. It’s available here (Save As), and you need to download Google Earth to check it out. It’s kinda nice… Now what’s left is my power management (including the gravity simulator, nuclear reactor and farms) and communication with the thousands (64800, to be precise) of sensors on earth. Oh, and the report…

In an unrelated event, I got Google Wallet on my phone! I’m trying it out tomorrow at Tim Horton’s (Coffee Shop)… It better work! If you don’t remember, Google Wallet lets you pay using your phone as a credit card. Of course, i’ll try posting a video of me doing this:

We’ll see how it goes…

My robot is in the process of being built. We got the parts, and we’ll start building it tomorrow. Super excited. Everything is in a box now, but it’ll all be better soon.

A few months back I got a gift from Microsoft: a full year of XBOX Live Gold and Halo (The Original) Remastered. Seeing as I get super psyched over new stuff (Kinect), I wanted to try it out and to possibly RELEASE MY INNER GEEKINESS (Paul, click there…)! So I borrowed Paul’s XBOX, activated my Xbox account (Grindaiser – add me) and I just got back into Gears Of War… the third one… and it’s ABSOLUTELY F*CKING AMAZING! Paul and I had previously finished the campaign in a night or two, and we tried Horde mode (endless enemies just keep on attacking you) for the first time… There are so many changes and updates and those make the game even better! We played online, and it was amazing! I’m going to work a bit on my satellite tonight and maybe i’ll get some late gaming going on… The reason I abandoned the Kinect idea for now is that the Star Wars game is not out yet…

The weather was absolutely amazing today, so I decided to go jogging. It was 20ºC, and there was a bit of snow there. Here are some pictures…

…and the map.

By clicking on END, you’ll have an elevation graph. Also, you can download the Google Earth file (Save As) and play the movement. It’s pretty cool, and relevant of where I met people I knew and where I stopped for the view… I’m using MyTracks, which is an awesome app if you like to run and then geek it out by looking where you were and all your stats – speed, elevation, graphs and science, yo!
Oh, and by the way, the Vibram five fingers are absolutely amazing for running…

About Microsoft… I’M JUST SUPER EXCITED AND CAN’T WAIT TO BE THERE! So here’s a timer…

Until next time…

May the force be with you,
zij
